Dickens Christmas Show & Festival
The 33rd Annual Dickens Christmas Show and Festival takes place from Nov. 13-16, 2014 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Come experience a magical holiday marketplace in a 19th century period setting where hundreds of Victorian clad vendors can be found hawking everything from arts, crafts, gifts, toys, gourmet foods, clothing, jewelry and much, much more. Join the thousands that kick off their holiday season in Dickens style at this national award winning extravaganza! Tickets may be purchased at the door. Single day pass: Adult $9.50, Child (2-12) $4.50. Multiple day pass: $14. Festival date and times are: Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Nov. 14 and 15, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and November 16, noon to 6 p.m.
Don’t miss the Victorian Tea Offerings that include Luncheon Teas, Nov. 14-15 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; High Tea, Friday, Nov. 14 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and Holiday Tours – Holiday Traditions of the Low Country on Thursday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 15th.
Intracoastal Christmas Regatta/Boat Parade
On the Saturday following Thanksgiving, November 29, the spectacular Intracoastal Christmas Regatta/Boat Parade begins at the Little River Inlet at 5 p.m. and heads south, arriving at Dock Holidays Marina at 7 p.m. Come on out with your family and watch the parade as it passes various viewing areas along the waterway from Little River to Dock Holidays Marina.
If you’d like to enter a boat in the parade this year fill out a parade application online or call Susie Watson at 249-8888 for entry information. Whether you’re entering a boat or just coming to watch, bring a new toy and drop it off at one of the collection points at any marina in Little River or North Myrtle Beach. If the parade ends and you have not yet donated your toy, you can take it to Harbour Gate Marina.
Christmas Tree Lighting & Parade
The annual North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting takes place from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, December 5. Mark your calendars now for this free event that’s open to the public! This exciting event is held at McLean Park, 93 Oak Drive in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
The following day come out to watch the annual North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The parade heads down Main Street to Ocean Boulevard and ends on 2nd Ave. North. This is a event that’s always filled with excitement as familiar holiday songs are played, colorful floats drive past with marching bands and beauty queens. In years past, the crowds were even treated by a special surprise when Santa Claus himself turned up in the parade along with his sleigh! You won’t want to miss it!
