The Skywheel- an amazing infrastructure that will be the tallest “ferris wheel” in the Eastern United States! Not your usual ferris wheel as the skywheel features glass enclosed gondolas that are each climate controlled! At the foot of this HUGE wheel will be a Landshark Bar and Grill owned by the folks at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. This beachy restaurant will feature the coldest cocktails and a fun, casual atmosphere for guests and locals alike.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans announced a new affiliate for their 2011 season after their 12-year history with the Atlanta Braves. The team has entered in a new 4 year contract with the Texas Rangers. An exhibition game will be played against the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers in March where some of the top stars from the 2010 season will make an appearance.
WonderWorks is already open and doing great business as it should-it’s an AWESOME 50,000 square foot “amusement park for the mind”. With over 100 hands on exhibits including a Shuttle landing simulator, hurricane shack and a 4-D Extreme Motion Ride this attraction is sure to entertain people of all ages!
As we all shed a tear over the departing Dixie Stampede we welcome the all new Pirate Voyage with open arms! This Pirate themed dinner show features pirates battling in full size ships with an indoor water lagoon. Live animals and music add to the excitement of each show. You will also enjoy the four course “pirate feast” while cheering your side to victory! This attraction will open the very beginning of June.
