In recognition of those whose lives were lost while serving our country in the military, there are a large assortment of various Memorial Day festivities taking place in and around Myrtle Beach. All are open to the public and free of charge.

Memorial Day Festivities in Myrtle Beach

The Military Appreciation Days Parade returns to the site of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, now known as The Market Common. The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27, and travels Howard Avenue and Farrow Parkway. This year’s parade promises to be one of the biggest and best ever! After the parade, join the Family Picnic on the Pavilion Site, complete with activities, military exhibits, music and more.

Family Picnic (exhibits, live music and more) – 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, at Valor Memorial Garden in The Market Common. The picnic is free. Meet Grand Marshal Alek Skarlatos and hear the Andrew Thielen Big Band live on stage at the picnic, immediately after the parade! 

Memorial Day Festivities in Myrtle Beach

Memorial Day Veterans March – 9:00 a.m., Monday, May 29. In honor of Memorial Day and in concert with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, a Veterans March on Ocean Boulevard will travel from 16th Ave. N. to Ninth Ave. N.

Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony – 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 29, Myrtle Beach Convention Center Plaza.  The event is sponsored by the Military Appreciation Committee and the City of Myrtle Beach. The public is invited to attend.

Memorial Day Tribute Film – 2 p.m. on Monday, May 29 at Grand 14 Cinemas, The Market Common.
