The Grand Strand is the East Coast’s favorite destination for family fun of every variety! If you love baseball, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, play Class-A ball at Coastal Federal Field throughout the spring and summer. Racing fans can get behind the wheel of their own race car at NASCAR SpeedPark, Grand Prix Family Thrill Park and South Beach Adventure Park. There are literally dozens of challenging miniature golf courses in the area, as well as thrilling water parks like Myrtle Waves and Wild Water & Wheels.

Celebrate Our Arts & History

For breathtaking beauty and splendor, few places come close to Brookgreen Gardens. Here, the largest collection of American figurative sculpture is displayed throughout one of the most captivating landscaped gardens in the South. In fact, for the past four years, readers of Southern Living magazine have chosen Brookgreen as one of their five favorite public gardens.

If you’re a history buff, the Carolina Lowcountry is rich in Southern heritage. You’ll be charmed by a number of antebellum plantations, which includes Hopsewee, home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence that dates from 1740, and Hampton on the Santee, which dates from 1735. Other fascinating glimpses of our area’s history can be found at places like the Rice Museum in Georgetown and the Horry County Museum in Conway.

A number of cultural festivals and special events can be found on the Myrtle Beach calendar. These include exhibits at the Art Museum on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, the Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival at Huntington Beach State Park every fall, and VIVACE!, a community-wide celebration of the arts held throughout the month of October.
